10/3/2023 0 Comments Stath lets flats series 2 dvd![]() So not hopeless.Īnd I’m conscious comedy is perhaps more subjective than any other genre - one man’s comedy is another’s horror film.Īlso, of course, what with my job, I adore Yes, Minister.Mrs. Some of the films in the vicinity of the genre that have stood the test of time for me are In the Company of Men (1997), Wild Tales (2014), Gosford Park, Thank You for Smoking etc. I like dark comedy/satire, but that’s a subjective term, which again complicates matters. Anyway, the accent bit seems reminiscent of Borat. I laughed as I read that back, though at the time it wasn’t fun. The last time I consciously set out to watch a comedy ended in an explosive row with my mother over Borat, which is apparently disrespectful to Kazakhstan (I mean… duh?). It depends, I have a painfully weird sense of humour, so that also complicates matters. I know of Demetriou from Fleabag, but nothing else is familiar. Has AgrippinaX seen this? Don’t know if she likes comedy.Haven’t heard of this either. Probably will be a third season, to which I look forward. ![]() Appalling accent & mangled English are two of the ways he portrays an immigrant from Cyprus, which he, himself, was as a teenager. Set in London & Jamie Demetriou (who I have never heard of) plays the eponymous gormless loser Stathi. Not usually a fan of comedy, but this two-seasoneron HBOMax is absurdly hilarious. Had never heard of this British comedy until the NY Times randomly plugged it recently.
